A Walk Through Houston Blues

“A Walk Through Houston Blues, Selections from the Houston Blues Museum,” opens at the Community Artists’ Collective with a reception Friday, April 24, from 6 to 9 p.m.The exhibition, presented by the Houston Blues Museums, features artifacts, clothing, photos and more from the collections of Texas John Brown, Big Walter “The Thunderbird” Price, Kinney Abair, Tha Lady D and others. The exhibit will run through June 20. HBM will host lectures May 21 and June 11, both from 7 to 8 p.m. at The Collective, 4101 San Jacinto, Suite 116. Founded in 2010, the mission of the Houston Blues Museum, a 501(c) (3) organization, is to honor Texas and Gulf Coast musicians and preserve, promote and perpetuate the history, culture and appreciation for blues music.

The Collective is open Thursday from noon to 8 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. and by appointment.
