Charlotte, N.C., author Cheryl J. McCullough will introduce and read from her trilogy of books at the Community Artists’ Collective, 4101 San Jacinto, Suite 116, on Saturday, September 24, from 2 to 4 p.m.

Admission is free, and light refreshments will be served.

“The Hattiesville Trilogy” is the story of relationships and how fragile they can be, the importance of nurturing them and the importance of making good decisions.

The first installment, “The Wedding Party” introduces the readers to the characters and the fictional town of Hattiesville, N.C., a suburb of Charlotte. It ends with an unanswered question and disturbing news. “Absent…One From Another” picks up three years later, answers the question, and introduces a few new characters whose lives are entangled in the lives of the characters we already know.  “Christmas Dinner” wraps up the trilogy and ties it neatly with a bow. But the package is full of heart break, revelation, contemplation, regrets, lies and even love.

The characters we have come to love, who have become friends and a part of our lives are in the midst of past loves, past hurts, kidnapping, terminal illness and sibling rivalry and show us their resolve.  But this is not necessarily “happily ever after”… the story and the trilogy end with a surprise.

Cheryl J. McCullough lives in Charlotte and is the mother of two adult sons. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a master’s degree in organizational leadership. McCullough, an avid reader and a sports fanatic, is a licensed minister at Life Center International in Charlotte and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
